Strategic partnership between the Tunisian group UTIC and the Austrian group Mayr-MeInhof Packaging
MCF, a corporate finance and investment advisory firm specialized in the Africa and Middle East region, acted as an advisor to UTIC Group in the merger of its subsidiary, la Société Tunisienne des Emballages Modernes (« STEM »), with the subsidiaries of MMP Group in Tunisia (TEC MMP and MMP Tunisia). This transaction created an undisputed leader in the folding carton and fluting paper markets by generating industrial, commercial and administrative synergies between the three entities. This would allow the new structure to develop its activities better on the Tunisian and North African markets.
Walid Ayad, Partner at MCF declared:” We are happy for advising UTIC Group on this important transaction that allowed the establishment of local leader in the folding carton and fluting paper markets. The success of this transaction reinforces MCF’s position as a reference actor in the Tunisian and regional advisory market and comes as an addition to the numerous transaction managed by MCF over the last years, including the sale and acquisition for the benefit of Tunisian and regional leaders on their respective markets.”
